I have my First Aid and Adult CPR/AED certificate. Emergencies do happen and its import to be prepared for the worst case scenario. I am constantly trying to find ways improve the safety of my professional environment.
When I started college, my focus was Social Science Education. I enjoyed working with students and studying social sciences. For a while it seemed like a perfect fit. As I advanced in the program I slowly started to notice that the program had a very limited perspective and it didn't fully meet my needs. This gap in my education started my search for answers outside the College of Education.
I was lucky enough to find Professor Folse. He explained that education was a wide field and the traditional path through college wasn't the only way. He explained to me that there wasn’t a set discipline that would set me on my desire pathway. As long as I earned a relevant bachelors and T.E.F.L. certificate there are always jobs in the field of education. From that moment on I started focusing less on the programs I was enrolled in and more about the subjects I was studying. I began designing my own path through Interdisciplinary Studies. I picked courses that would benefit my future classroom. I focused less on Eurocentric history and made a concise effort to study a wide variety of courses. Interdisciplinary Studies gave me the freedom to explore my surrounding while still giving me the tools to reach my goals.
Below is a complete list of taken courses. To the right side there are PDF's with specific focuses.
